Mirrorverse

Mirror, Mirror was the title to the first presentation of an alternate reality simply as the "other side of the mirror, a term I used in my sci-fi short or Novella called "Adverse Parallel." The basic idea is that, one side is the normal, and the other side has a more negative effect, therefore giving the main character a chance to make something wrong into something right, compared to what is the correct side of the mirror. First used in Star Trek:The Original Series.

This idea was explored throughout the Star Trek Universe (even if Star Trek:TNG only followed a comicbook adventure), and was well received. Eventually the idea of other worlds, or multiverses became famous, but the Mirrorverse was a bit more simpler, to show one alternate reality with dark side effects. Basically there is a John Doe on the right side, and a darker John Doe on the other side. This idea was more appealing to have a chance to give a twist of humor as well.

i first considered a mirrorverse in "Adverse Parallel", but went a bit too far with the other world being a time-fractured world (past, present and future mixed up together), as well as the evil dark lord was nothing more than the big bad ghost and his minions who were worse than the master.

A small clip that I would have liked to use in the new book but was already used is the following.

-Sounds like Dungeons and Dragons,- said Billy with a quick smirk.

-There are dungeons and there are dragons,- said Gezir seriously, -but the dark lord and his army of evil is the greatest threat.-

Anyway, the new story is better set out plotwise, and does a lot of mixing, but with a more sensible explanation of how they appear in the book.

Since the "Totally Awesome Adventure" has a few extra twists, a mix of science fiction worlds was still possible, where Virtual Reality gives the chance to explore each one seperately, or put together. The focus is that the general landscape is a Mirrorverse, and the stakes are higher. Still, it is a cool adventure!
