Bryan Ryan's Totally Awesome Adventure

Bryan Ryan's Totally Awesome Adventure

Yes, there is an obvious nod to Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, as well as an inclusion to famous fantasy themes, as well as sci-fi themes. Think a little of the Matrix and Ready Player One, with a center focus on Virtual Reality. Other themes play out as well, including Star Trek and Star Wars in a minor way. The story has action and fantasy, but centers more on romance and comedy between the Main Character and secondary characters.

The description, or blurb, would be as follows.

Ryan Buenavista has a casual lifestyle as a hardworking employee, a single middle-aged man living in a single-room apartament. HIs life is turned upside down when he receives a package and the last will and testament of his late grandfather. It appears that he is "chosen" to fulfill a "quest" and complete a series of "trials" to win a "golden ticket." Little does he know that the stakes are much higher, and a superior power will recruit him to become a member of a secret organization in the mirrorverse, a land which is presently opressed by dark forces and a leader known as the dark matter lord.

Is Ryan the right guy to join a battle he knows nothing about? Does a clueless simple-minded geek have a chance to match wits against an evil mastermind? Does 10 years of playing Dungeons and Dragons count for training?

With the help of a 3D AI called Gifbot, joined by his girlfriend in a 3 year steady relationship status, and a pocket-sized Bible given to him from his beloved granny, Ryan will face the unthinkable.

Yes, the popular sci-fi and fantasy themes are overdone on purpose, with a twist of humor.

To be clear, writers advise not to add yourself into a novel, as if to live out some fantasy, or unachieved adventure, and I agree. Curiously, the main character is your regular joe, geek lover, and probably falls into the general population of every day living (yeah, a bit like me). His girlfriend seems a bit more "accomplished", and that is what I wanted to share in this novel. Any slight similarity (except for names, or nameplays) is purely coincidental!

The overall view is to read this book as sci-fi adventure, with romance and comedy, and a christian message.
